Sony includes a 16MB Memory Stick card with the DSC-F77.I'd suggest 128MB as a good starter size (though a larger card wouldn't hurt!). You can use regular Memory Sticks (limited to 256MB) or the new Memory Stick Pro cards, which have a larger capacity (up to 1GB) and higher transfer rates. Memory Stick Pro cards tend to be a little more expensive than other formats (such as CompactFlash).

The DSC-F77 uses a proprietary lithium-ion battery known as the sony NP-FC11. This battery translates into spending 165 minutes (330 photos) in record mode and 400 minutes in playback mode.

When it's time to charge the battery, plug the included adapter into the camera. It takes approximately 200 minutes to fully charge the battery. The adapter can also be used to power your camera in a studio setting or when you're transferring photos to your PC.

Another key benefit of the DSC-F77 is its operating speed, allowing the user to capture the moment as it happens. The rotating lens operates as an on/off switch – a feature which significantly reduces the time taken to shoot a picture. The camera takes less than one second to power up while it features a shutter time lag of only 0.35 seconds and a shutter interval speed of approx. 2 seconds.
